Freak Out

Kinsey: "Mom, give me that book."
Me: "No, I need it."
Kinsey: "NO, I NEED it. You have to share, that is what friends do. If you don't give it to me I'll freak out."
Me: "You'll what?"
Kinsey, with major attitude: "I'll freak out. Don't you know what that means??"

hmm... I guess she told me. I had to write this down b/c this is the first time she has used the phrase "freak out"-

Decision...finally

If anyone cares and although it was against popular vote, I went with the Estonia rug. I'm really excited. I think my dark wood floors needed a lighter color- the yellow was a bit too bold for me. Plus I love the blues and purples in this... One more thing is Travis ACTUALLY LIKES this rug. It is a total mind blower that we agreed on something, so I'll take what I can get : ). I thought he would for sure hate this rug.

Rugs

I need help choosing a rug. These are from Ballard Designs; they have tons and I need some help deciding. I need some color in my dining room but I'm not sure what to pick. All of these are pretty neutral but... I don't know; I kind of like to be able to change things around so it's kind of nice to stay neutral. Here a few I like; what do you think? Opinions please!! Or get online and find me one that would look amazing!! I want my house to feel fresh, clean, bright, and cheery... oh and Travis wants it to be elegant. That's why I'm struggling with this front room. We like different things, so I'm trying to do the front room his way and the rest of the house mine. It's really too formal for me but oh well... So something to make it a little bit younger. Hmmm.. I don't know.

Day Trip to Tonto National Bridge

We decided to ditch church on Sunday and take a quick drive up to the mountains for a little get away. Travis has been wanting us to take Tonto National Bridge for a while now, so we finally did it. It's just a small miniature hike/walk down to the bottom of the cave/waterfall. It was really beautiful. Yes, that is Connor in a purple jacket. By the time we got there his was soaking wet. What can I say? The man who took this picture kept referring to Connor as 'she'. oops..

After that we took the kids sledding. Ya, what kind of mom lets her baby play in the snow with no jacket? Well, it really wasn't that cold. I swear. And it was only for a second. I feel like I have to disclaim after the last time I went to costco and the lady at the door said to me about Kinsey, "You have on a jacket and she doesn't? Oh my gosh." I couldn't get her to wear a friggin jacket so sue me. She's still alive. I was so annoyed by that lady.

Travis made this snow angel. psych. It was there and pretty amazing.

Kinsey couldn't get enough of the sledding, she cried and cried when it was time to go. I kept asking her if she was cold and she kept assuring me she was fine. When we got into the car I realized her feet,legs, and butt were completely soaked. Poor girl. She was afraid to tell me bc she didn't want to leave. : ). My kind of girl.

Update

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!! Travis made me breakfast this morning and had roses for me. I tell you what; I am a sucker for breakfast. It puts me in a great mood especially when I don't have to make it. So, I'm off to a great day. We will probably just order take out tonight and veg out with the kiddos. I'm actually really looking forward to it. I love nights like that. I had this horrible dream last night that Travis was seeing another woman. It was so real I woke up sick to my stomach, it was awful. I just laid awake for a while thinking about how lucky I am and how I better keep him happy so that never happens. In the dream I punched him in the arm when I found out and he said, "Well she definitely wouldn't do that!" It's kind of funny bc I'm always slugging him in the arm when he's being a brat. Not in an abusive way just a love punch...lol. Anyway, I just woke up feeling like I better be a better wife.

On another note... I haven't really given any updates on the kids lately so here's a little run down. Kinsey is doing great and has really grown up lately. She is so helpful with Connor and is so sweet these days, always wanting to please us. I think she's finally growing out of that really hard toddler stage. She knows how to write her name and is loving school. Connor is slowly emerging into that "really hard toddler stage". As I write, my q-tips are spread all over my bathroom floor, and I just finished cleaning up an entire canister of oatmeal that he dumped all over the floor. He LOVES to tease Kinsey and is constantly pulling her hair. That must be a gene that all men have... tease all the women in my life until they are going crazy. : ). He actually tries to say outside, ball, and dad. Well, and of course mom, but that goes without saying. Outside sounds like ousie- it's really cute. He wants to be outside all the time; if anyone goes outside he HAS to go too. Connor is such a funny little guy and is always playing around. I just want to squish him all day long!!
This does it. I'm going to buy a camera today. I can't stand it.

Bikini Girl

Has anyone watched American Idol? What the crap is that girl thinking? I literally want to snap my fingers and say, "Oh, no you di-innnt.." (just like a black girl) She was a little hoochie mama walking around in her itty-bitty-tiny-winy bikini and making out with Ryan Seacrest (or at least trying to). I swear, girls these days really bug the crap outa me!! No wonder guys think they can treat us like objects and put pictures of naked devil women silhouettes on their trucks(which by the way I think are the trashiest, most immature, disgusting, degrading, vile-shall I go on?- things EVER, well besides bikini girl)- look how most of us are acting! TRAMPS!
